The primary method being to offer related items to visitors to your site in return for a commission IE promote affiliate programs. Because of the nature of the internet if you want to promote a service that compliments your own you don't need to do a deal with another supplier.

With affiliate programs & directories you can just search out an appropriate program, register your details & then go ahead & recommend the product to your visitors.

You can also take paid advertisements to place on your site. The easiest way to do this is with the Google Adsense program.

Google will provide you with code that you insert into your page, that displays ads automatically. These ads pay you a commission for any body that clicks on them. The clever bit is that Google automatically assesses your page content and display ads that are relevant to that page. I have included an example of Google Adsense ads at the foot of this page.
